The Jovian color picker for LightWave 3D was designed with the needs of users in mind. Providing them with many ways to choose and adjust a color.

Features
Colors Greater Than 255. High colors can be entered either in the RGB fields or you can use the X field as a multiplier.

Color Wheel. Easily see where the chosen color lies on a wheel of hues as well as see and chose the color's compliments. Using the Save As... feature, you can also save a color and its complements as Color nodes in a .nodes file or as lights in a scene file.

Pick From Image. Pick a color from any of the images loaded in LightWave or load another image of any LW supported file type.

Pick From Screen. Pick a color from anywhere on the screen, including inside other windows.

Quick Storage. Store and retrieve colors from one of fifty four slots.

Full Version Features:
Zooming and Multi-Click Sampling in the Image Picker. Zoom into an image up to 800% to precisely pick a color. Multi-Click Sampling averages the colors from up to four different areas that have been clicked in the image.

Color Library. Store and retrieve large numbers of colors.

Gamma Correction. When used in a pipeline that will include gamma correction, Jovian can return colors that are compensated with that correction in mind.

Compatibility:
Jovian works in LightWave 3D versions 8.0 through 9.6, for both Win32 and Win64. A version for Mac well be investigated as time permits.

Jovian Color Picker è stato aggiornato, la nuova versione è disponibile. In più è in arrivo la versione Mac, non ci dovrebbe essere però la versione free, almeno per un primo periodo. :)


These changes and features include:


Added a Reset button to reset the Quick Color Storage area's colors to their defaults.
Renamed the Temp button to read Kelvin.
The current color model selection is saved to the cfg file.

New registered version features:
Added a Hue Controls option to the Advanced options tab. The free version of Jovian only uses the LW Style option, the registered version can also use PS Style. PS Style changes the Saturation or Value of the colors shown in the main color selection area to match the current Saturation or Value.
In addition to the Color nodes that Save As Nodes creates, the registered version now also saves a Gradient node with the complementary colors as keys.

Devo dire che avevi proprio ragione Michele, già la versione free è notevolissima, onestamente dopo averlo provato non riesco a farne a meno.

Personalmente ho trovato favolosa la funzione per trovare i colori simili.

Ora vado a vedere il filmato, così vediamo un pochino cosa la versione completa offre in più ;)

Il filmato riguarda il PS Hue Style Control (versione full, quella free ha quello di LW), non mostra tutto, le features aggiuntive della versione full, le leggi ai post #1 (http://www.lwita.com/vb/showpost.php?p=73435&postcount=1) e #10 (http://www.lwita.com/vb/showpost.php?p=74349&postcount=10), o direttamente sul sito. ;)

Un nuovo aggiornamento, v1.07:

-Operation "Maple Leaf' has been completed. Jovian's Library now includes a
Color History. When enabled, a special History folder will be available at the top
of the list of folders. Any previously picked colors will be shown here.

-The Reset button has been replaced in the registered version with an Opts popup
button which include four options:
Load Palette - Load a saved palette of colors into the color wells.
Save Palette - Save the current colors to a Jovian Palette file (.jcp).
Reset To Default - Acts the same as the free version's Reset button.
Single Click to Use - Toggle this option to allow you to quickly pick colors from the wells.

-The Options panel has been slightly re-arranged, the Registration area is now on the
About tab. The Advanced tab now includes options for the Color History. Note: Enabling/disabling
the History requires LightWave be closed and re-opened to fully take affect.

Ormai questa plug-in non la mollo più incredibile davvero, secondo me però la version free ha un difetto (se così possiamo chiamarlo) è troppo appetitosa, dovevano limitarla di più per spingermi alla versione full :D
Però, c'è anche da dire che costa così poco, che si è tentati fin da subito a comprarla.

Sopratutto per resettare e organizzare la libreria dei colori salvati.

Semplicemente ottimo! Si può anche prendere il campione da un punto qualsiasi del monitor (la cornice del monitor no, forse nella versione a pagamento :D)

La versione è la stessa, un'archivio contiene plugin con documentazione e l'altro plugin senza documentazione. E' funzionante e, se vuoi o ti servono le features aggiuntive, acquisti la licenza per sbloccarle, costa $25 US.
Installa e prova per capire meglio. ;)

Aggiunto il Matching Color con la library ed altri miglioramenti. Ci sono anche delle nuove librerie.

-Project "Canuck" adds a new Matching Colors search feature. To see which colors in the Library
have the same or similar RGB values to the currently chosen color, simply have the Library open
and click on the current color swatch (the square to the left of the Use/Store buttons which
shows the current color). To limit the search to only exact color matches, hold down the Ctrl
key when clicking the swatch. As with text searches, the results can be cleared by clicking the
C button. Or saved by clicking Export.

Because the top half of the color swatch is now clickable, there is a 10 pixel dead-zone between
the two halves to prevent accidental clicks in the wrong area, since the swatch below the
current color can be clicked to revert to the incoming color.

-Doubled the maximum length of a color's name in the Library.

-Fixed a small memory leak in the Library.

-The Mac build should now include support for 64 bit. There are some minor text/alignment issues
which will be fixed in a later build.

L'ultimo aggiornamento è la versione 1.12 per LightWave, ma in più ora abbiamo pure la possibilità di utilizzarlo per altre applicazioni, com color picker sostitutivo per Windows. Attualmente 32 bit per Windows XP e Win7, ma funziona anche a 64 bit. La versione per MacOS è in studio.

-Several changes have been made to the Pick From Image window, such as:
-The maximum sample count has been increased from 10 to 200, some minor changes have been made
to the layout of the controls to accommodate the much bigger Sample Strip.

-Sample Markers can now be re-positioned by simply moving the cursor over the marker and, when
the marker turns red, then click and drag the marker to the new position.

-Zooming into and out of the image can be done by holding Ctrl+Spacebar then clicking dragging
to the left to zoom out and to the right to zoom into the spot that's been clicked.
Alt+Spacebar can also be used for this feature but because of an issue with Qt and Windows you
have to press and hold the Spacebar first and then hold Alt. This will hopefully be fixed in a
later version.

-To allow for this new zooming feature, the way the image is displayed had to be adjusted. Thus
image is no longer locked to the top left of the viewing area.

-Zooming now goes up to 3200%

-Two new Sample Sizes have been added to both Pick From Image and Pick From Screen,
they are 7x7 and 9x9 Average.

-A new feature as been added called Auto Screen Picking (enabled by default). When the cursor
leaves the Jovian window via the left or right side of the window, the Pick From Screen tool
will be activated, when it returns to inside the Jovian window it will be turned off again.
The Pick From Screen button can still be used to explicitly activate the tool.

-The choice of RGB or RYB in the Color Wheel is now saved to the config file and restored
when starting.

-Two keyboard shortcuts have been added to the Custom Complement type. Holding Ctrl and
clicking on a handle will remove it. Holding Alt and clicking the wheel will add a new
handle at that location.

Un veloce aggiornamento per eliminare un piccolo bug nell'Auto Sceen Picking, che ogni tanto poteva non attivarsi automaticamente. Occasione per aggiungere nuove features come il dragging nelle librerie, possibilità di usare le web palette, assegnazione dei colori dalle slot del mixer, la ricerca dei colori corrispondenti automatica dalle llibrerie. ;)

-Fixed a bug in the Auto Screen Picking, the previous code was affected by the width of the window's frame. A wider than (XP's) normal frame width caused the Screen Picker to intermittently not auto activate. The new code uses a different piece of data that isn't affected by the window's frame width.

-Fixed two minor bugs in the Library.

Some new features have been also added:
Holding Ctrl while dragging-n-dropping a Library entry now copies the entry (and any children if it's a folder) into the new location instead of moving the entry.

-The Web button has been changed from simply a button to a checkbox and button. The button is still used to choose between Web Safe and Web Smart Color, but now the checkbox is used to switch between the normal and selected Web palette.

-Holding the Alt key and clicking on a Mixer slot will make that slot's assigned color the current color, holding Alt+Shift will make the slot's mixed color (the background color of that slot) the current color. The Mixer's switch button's tooltip has been updated to show these new shortcuts.

-When the Library is open there is now a checkbox below the Close Library button named Auto Color Search. When enabled, a Color Matching Search will be performed whenever the color is changed (and the mouse button is released). This feature works when changing the color using one of these controls: the main color area, the vertical slider, the Color Wheel, the Color
Palette and the Color Mixer. Clicking the Current Color swatch will still perform a Color Matching Search just as before.

Penso che ci impiegerà poco, presumo entro le 24 ore, ma se hai fatto l'acquisto oggi che è sabato, non è detto che non debba aspettare lunedì, che sarebbe comunque veloce.
Se non lo hai già fatto, puoi installarlo ed utilizzarlo con le features della versione trial, fin tanto che non ti arriverà la seriale. ;)

Ci sono delle belle novità sul fronte Mac, per cui lo sviluppo ora si concentrerà principalmente su Mac, ma anche sul back-porting di alcune nuove features di Jovian 2 sul plugin originale Jovian.
Le buone notizie per gli utenti Mac dovrebbero arrivare per il prossimo update.

-The Library's C button, used for clearing the search results, has been changed to say Clear.

-The Library's Auto Search feature has been changed slightly. In addition to the check box
which enables the feature, there's now a drop-down menu which lets you change from Auto Search
(which searches when you release the mouse), to Live Search (which searches as the color is
being adjusted).

-I've re-written the keyboard handler in the Pick From Image window, Alt+Space now works
correctly. I've also made the E and R keys shortcuts to the Even and Random distribution
methods.

-The Pick From Image window now supports a marquee selection (tied to the M key). When the
marquee is set, the Even and Randomly placed markers will be placed only inside the marquee.
Double-tapping M or hitting Alt+D will remove the marquee.

Dettagi del plugin per Mac:
- Minimum OS version: 10.5 (Leopard), il plugin si basa su parti di Cocoa che non sono disponibili nella versione 10.4 e precedenti.
- 32 e 64 bit Intel: il plugin usa Cocoa (al posto di Carbon), così non ci son problemi per 64 bit.
- Possibile una versione PPC, ma, considerato obsoleto, non è detto che venga compilata

Della nuova versione ne gioveranno anche gli utenti Win, poiché ci saranno nuove funzioni che verranno implementate in entrambe le versioni.
