These are the raw basics of setting up a smoke sim and importing it into lightwave 2018 for rendering.
It does not cover adjusting the domain or any of the smoke settings inside blender.
And yes, on a practical level, I strongly recommend investing into Turbulence4d for various reasons

In this video I open up an old scene in Lightwave 3D 2018 and troubleshoot some texturing and lighting issues.

In this scene I have to rework some textures where some things are no longer options and I have an issue with the falloff distance on some lights interfering with the new Cel shader.
